Matt Longo powered the Detroit Chargers to a win over the Winnipeg Buffaloes. The final score was 11-3. The Detroit catcher was phenomenal. He stroked 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. Omar Smart went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. The left-hander struck out 3 and walked 7. With the win, he ups his record to 2-0 this season. Detroit, now 5-9, is off to a slow start.

With Detroit trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Longo hit a fastball from Dan Frost for a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Chargers ahead, 4-1.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Longo told a Detroit News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
