Southpaw Pitches Eagles to 5-1 Win
|
The Newark Eagles got great pitching from 32-year old left-handed pitcher Mike Pedersen, allowing them to bump off the Ottawa Capitals, 5-1. The Capitals fall to 5-8 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2012 season.
Pedersen dominated for Newark, raising his record to 2-0. Ottawa hitters had few good at-bats against the left-hander, who scattered 3 hits over 8.1 innings while striking out 5.
"I can't say enough about Mike," said Newark manager Hector Pina. "He stepped up when we needed him."
