The Boston Shamrocks downed the Denver Cutthroats, 7-5. The hitting star was second baseman Kyle Skiver. Skiver went 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times for the Shamrocks. Isiah McNeal picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed 5 runs on 7 hits, while walking 8 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 5-3. Boston is now 19-20, while Denver is 15-24.
It could have been a different outcome for Boston, had it not been for Mike Woolridge, the 29-year old center fielder . Woolridge contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Boston up, 5-4.
"We take it day by day here," said Woolridge, "and today was a good one for us."
