Dan Frost was outstanding against Sherbrooke. The left-hander had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Buffaloes 7-2 win. Frost, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 10 and giving up 3 walks. Sherbrooke falls to 1-1.

Kyle McNutt had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With one out and a runner on 2nd, the Winnipeg shortstop hit a run-scoring single. That put the Buffaloes in front, 3-2.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Winnipeg skipper Jonathan Gandara.
