Buffaloes Lose at Home, 5-4
|
Crowds lined up early in front of Goldeyes Park, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2012 Semi-Pro Baseball Circuit season. On the mound was Hui He for the visiting Sherbrooke Canadians and Michael Maya for the hometown Winnipeg Buffaloes. In a spirited contest, the Canadians pulled out the win, defeating the Buffaloes by the score of 5-4. Especially impressive was Cameron Buss.
Sherbrooke needed the clutch hitting of Dave Escobedo to seal the deal. The right fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Canadians on top, 5-4. For the game, Escobedo had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I felt good up there," said Escobedo. "I saw the ball well."
