St. Louis and Los Angeles duked it out and the Lions came out victorious.

St. Louis pitcher Ben Barger did his part in helping his team beat the Los Angeles Knights, 6-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Barger, who finished 3rd in the in wins with 12 in 2006, went the distance for St. Louis. He gave up 3 runs on 4 hits.

St. Louis used the hitting of Kyle Bertsche to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Lions on top, 4-0. For the game, Bertsche had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Ben was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said St. Louis manager Leo Cruz.

The win for the Lions raised their record to 25-13.
