Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Chicago Blackhawks take on the Philadelphia Keystones.
The Chicago Blackhawks got a superb performance from pitcher Jason Gross, but the Philadelphia Keystones still won the game, 5-2. Gross threw 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball. Roger Cobos earned the win to go to 2-3. He allowed 2 runs on 10 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work. The save was Xavier Rodriguez's, his 2nd.
Philadelphia relied on the hitting of Carlos Vargas to pick up the win. The second baseman ripped a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Keystones on top, 3-1. For the game, Vargas had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We did a lot of things right," said Vargas.
The Keystones now have a record of 8-20.
