Cutthroats Hand Knights 5-4 Loss
|
Los Angeles got a terrific game from third baseman Danny Holt. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Denver, 5-4. Holt belted 2 home runs. Jon Lund went 7 innings for Denver to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs. He scattered 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. His record improves to 3-2. With the win, the Cutthroats are 9-17.
The Cutthroats got a big at-bat from center fielder Kyle Prater. For the game, Prater went 1 for 4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Denver a 2-0 lead.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Los Angeles manager Nigel Laverick said, following the tough loss.
