In a low-scoring contest between the Detroit Motors and the St. Louis Lions, Bryan Smith, who finished 5th in the PBC in innings pitched with 164.0 in 2010, proved to be the difference. The Detroit left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Motors win. Smith, now 3-2, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 1, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The Motors, at 12-7, lead by one game in their division.

With two out in the top of the second, Adam Falco put Detroit in front, 2-1, with a run-scoring single. The Motors went on to win the ballgame.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Smith.
