San Francisco (R) Beats Washington (R) 8-2, Shepard Ks 16 Saturday, September 17th , 2011 Gene Shepard of the San Francisco (R) Peanuts put on a pitching clinic at PBC Rookie Development Complex, as he struck out 16 Washington (R) Warriors in a 8-2 victory. Shepard, who is tied for 8th in the in strikeouts with 118, was simply magnificent, holding the Warriors to 3 hits. He walked 0. "I felt okay at the beginning," Shepard said, "but eventually my sinker really started working. I also have to thank my catcher for calling a great game." When asked about Shepard's performance, Peanuts manager Sayf bin Imran shook his head and said, "Yeah, he was good out there today. He was dominating."
