Cook Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Wednesday, June 15th , 2011 Miami (R) Sun Sox center fielder Cruz Cook had a day to remember at PBC Rookie Development Complex, ripping apart the Toronto (R) Titans and sparking the 7-6 Sun Sox win. Cook wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-6. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Cook told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it." Cruz Cook singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Mike Schwartz in the 9th, grounded out in the 11th and hit an RBI single in the 13th.
