Manhattan's Slater Will Miss Season Tuesday, September 27th , 2011 The season is finished for Matt Slater of the Manhattan Liberty. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Liberty starting pitcher suffered bone chips in his elbow while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Manchester Monarchs. Team doctors said it would take at least 7 months to heal. On his stats sheet this season, Slater shows a 1-8 record, 14 starts, 71 innings, 76 strikeouts and a 6.34 ERA. |
