Ings Amateur Baseball Circuit's Hottest Hitter Monday, September 19th , 2011 Few players his age are still in the league, but Kelly Ings of the Yuma Gnomes clearly loves the game and clearly he can still get the job done. Last week the 37-year-old first baseman hit the ball with the consistency of someone ten years younger, which made Ings a popular and well-deserved selection as Amateur Baseball Circuit Player of the Week. He paced the Gnomes attack by putting up a .458 batting average, 11 hits in 24 at-bats, 10 RBIs and 4 home runs. Ings also scored 7 runs. Ings on the season is hitting .341 with 12 home runs. His stats include 41 RBIs and 37 runs scored. |
