Liberty Jenkins Lost for Year Tuesday, September 13th , 2011 The doctors have spoken and Gabe Jenkins of the Manhattan Liberty didn't like what he heard. The 30-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Jenkins sustained his season-ending injury during the St. Petersburg Pelicans game yesterday at Central Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Manhattan medical staff reported Jenkins had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8 months. This year, his season stats show Jenkins has no saves in 4 relief appearances with a 0-0 record and 3.46 ERA. |
