George Matthews Winner in Amateur Baseball Circuit Monday, August 1st , 2011 It's perhaps an award he'll win many more times through his career, as at age 24 George Matthews has a lot of baseball ahead of him. But for now the young New Orleans Buccaneers star can enjoy the numbers he put up in July, which have garnered him the nod as the Amateur Baseball Circuit Batter of the Month. His breakout month featured a .391 average with 5 home runs, 22 RBIs and 26 runs scored. In the 2011 season Matthews is hitting .403 with 7 home runs. |
