Vanden Burg Has 20-Game Hitting Streak Tuesday, June 14th , 2011 Win or lose, Kyle Vanden Burg just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 2 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games. The Providence Grays first baseman went 2-for-3, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated, 2-1, by the Fort Wayne Farmers at Farmers Field. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Kyle Vanden Burg singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, walked in the 6th and singled in the 8th. |
