Gibbons Scorches Texans for 3 HR Friday, September 2nd , 2011 Las Vegas Aces shortstop Ken Gibbons sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Dallas Texans, Gibbons told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Gibbons pushed the Aces past the Texans, 12-0. To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Gibbons told reporters after the game. Ken Gibbons hit a solo-shot off Jason Hall in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Ben Hachtel in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Mike Nunn in the 8th. Gibbons is currently batting .272 with 11 home runs, 46 RBIs and 43 runs scored. He has 73 hits in 268 at-bats. |
