Cote Blasts 3 out of the Park Sunday, July 24th , 2011 Joe Cote was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 8-6 Detroit Motors triumph at The Motor Yard. The 24-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Motors past the San Francisco Peanuts. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Cote told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The left fielder went 3-for-4, rung up 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs on his record-setting day. Joe Cote hit a three-run home run off Brian Castetter in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Brian Castetter in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Ze-dong Phan in the 8th. This season, Cote has hit 8 home runs and posted a .235 batting average. |
