The Tampa Bay Thunder coasted to a win over the Washington Warriors, 11-3. Darnell Phillips had a good day at the plate for Tampa Bay. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The defeat makes Washington 5-6.

Naoto Sugahara had a big 2-run home run for the Thunder in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Tampa Bay leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a splitter from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Jerry Ericks and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Thunder on top, 4-1.

"Not one of our better nights," said Washington skipper Angel Sanchez.
