Shamrocks Clip Lions, 2-1, in PS Contest
The Boston Shamrocks and the St. Louis Lions will take the Play-in Series to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation, the Shamrocks beat the Lions, 2-1, at Shamrock Grounds to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Boston right-hander Chris Phillips had a big role in the win. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball.

Phillips, a native of Los Angeles, California, was dealing all game. He kept St. Louis hitters off-balance, while giving the Shamrocks 8 quality innings. Phillips threw 122 pitches, allowing 6 hits and striking out 7.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Phillips said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Lions Hearth in St. Louis.
