The Boston Shamrocks wasted no time taking the lead in the Play-in Series, beating the St. Louis Lions at The Lions Hearth by the score of 4-2. The win gives Boston a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Shamrocks right-hander Chris Phillips threw 6.2 innings allowing 2 runs.

Andres Hernandez came through with a big-time hit for Boston. The first baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Phillips.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Lions Hearth in St. Louis.
