Taylor Stars in 9-7 Loss to Denver
The Denver Cutthroats weathered an outstanding game by El Paso designated hitter Zack Taylor to topple the Diablos, 9-7. Taylor hit 3 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored three times. Min-jun Jung picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed 5 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 6-6. Their 46-38 record puts the Cutthroats third in the West Division.

Aaron Cotton had a big grand slam home run for the Cutthroats in the bottom of the third inning. With Denver leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a splitter from Tony Vadi, who finished 5th in the PBC in wins with 10 in 2001, and punished it. The result was his 13th home run of the season, which put the Cutthroats on top, 5-0.

"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Cotton told the Denver Chronicle. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
