St. Louis pitcher Paul Easterling did his part in helping his team beat the Washington Warriors, 7-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Easterling, who is tied for 7th in the PBC in strikeouts with 162, went the distance for St. Louis. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. With the win, the Lions hiked their record to 52-29.

The Lions got a big hit from second baseman Bryce Goolsby. Facing Washington pitcher Ron Clous in the top of the fifth, Goolsby pounded a 3-run home run to left. His 9th home run of the season put the Lions ahead, 7-0.

Goolsby attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
