New York City Nets 2-1 Win Versus Keystones
|
Xavier Rodriguez pitched well, but the Philadelphia Keystones still lost the game, falling, 2-1, to the New York City Blues at Keystones Stadium. Matt Baird picked up the win, lifting his record to 5-7 on the season. He struck out 6 and walked 1 in 7 innings, while yielding 1 run. Today's win puts New York City at 28-31, while Philadelphia falls to 24-35.
New York City used the timely hitting of Paul Silver to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blues on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Silver said.
