The Denver Cutthroats beat the Boston Shamrocks by a score of 9-5. Denver first baseman Armando Gonzalez deserved the lion's share of the credit. Gonzalez was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times for the Cutthroats. Aaron Sales picked up the win, lifting his record to 11-2 on the season. He struck out 6 and walked 4 in 7.2 innings, while yielding 5 runs. Luke Dickerson was credited with the save for Denver, his 12th of the season.

The Shamrocks had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Cutthroats going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old second baseman Aaron Cotton came to the plate. Cotton hit a 3-run home run on a 0-1 fastball from Boston hurler Zach Hoelzer. It was Cotton's 12th home run of the year.

"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Cotton told the Denver Chronicle.

Denver raised its record to 43-35 with the win.
