Souders, Shamrocks Too Much for Blackhawks
|
The Boston Shamrocks defeated the Chicago Blackhawks, 8-5. Doing his part was catcher Billy Souders, who went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The victory gives the Shamrocks a record of 26-22.
With Boston trailing 5-2 in the bottom of the third, Souders hit a cutter from Jose Sierra for a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Shamrocks ahead, 6-5.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Boston manager Matt Mays.
