Bob Hamlyn impressed in the 6-5 Los Angeles win over Philadelphia. Hamlyn, who finished 3rd in the in doubles with 27 in 2008, went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Los Angeles pitcher David Gandarilla earned the win, hiking his record to 1-1. Joe Lang suffered the loss. Los Angeles is last in the West Division with a record of 14-24.

The Knights got a clutch hit from catcher Dave McCune. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Knights.

"I hope this win gives us a jumpstart," said Hamlyn.
