Blues Upend Sun Sox, 6-4
|
Roger Curry had a good game, but he could not keep the Miami Sun Sox from falling, 6-4, to the New York City Blues at Sun Sox Stadium. The Miami first baseman was 4-4 with 4 singles, while scoring 3 times in the loss. New York City starter Jim Johnson was credited with the win after throwing 102 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 4-3. Miami has now lost 4 consecutive games.
New York City used the hitting of Dan Stricklin to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Blues on top, 4-3. For the game, Stricklin had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Said New York City manager Kurt Schull: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
