The Boston Shamrocks knocked off the New York City Blues, 14-1, at Shamrock Grounds. Damani Moreno was a big reason Boston won. The left fielder hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 7. The Blues drop to 7-8 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2011 season.

With Boston leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Moreno hit a slider from Matt Baird for a grand slam home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Shamrocks ahead, 7-1.

"It kind of got out of hand on us there," said losing manager Kurt Schull.
