Boston pitcher Chris Phillips did his part in helping his team beat the New York City Blues, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Isiah McNeal earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. The win puts Boston at 7-6.

Boston got a knockout punch from Bas Rutten. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"He who laughs last laughs best," Phillips said, postgame.
