Bill Lopez Out for Season Friday, September 24th , 2010 The doctors have spoken and Bill Lopez of the Miami (R) Sun Sox didn't like what he heard. The 19-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Lopez sustained his season-ending injury during the Washington (R) Warriors game yesterday at PBC Rookie Development Complex. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Miami (R) medical staff reported Lopez had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 6 months. So far this season, Lopez has a 0-0 record, 0 starts, 17.2 innings, 25 strikeouts and a 8.66 ERA. |
