Keystones Chill Ege Hot Streak Tuesday, August 11th , 2009 It was the best of both worlds for the Philadelphia (R) Keystones at PBC Rookie Development Complex, as they defeated the Houston (R) Mavericks, 13-3, and also snapped Eric Ege's 20-game hitting streak. The 19-year-old Houston (R) center fielder failed to get a hit in 1 at-bat. "Nothing personal against Ege, we just wanted to win the game," said Keystones skipper Alan Bonney. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Ege frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." For the year, Ege has hit .397 with 15 home runs, 40 RBIs and scored 41 runs. |
