Manigault Bombs 3 HR Against St. Louis (R) Sunday, September 19th , 2010 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the St. Louis (R) Lions. Denver (R) catcher Andre Manigault tripled up on the home runs to propel the Cutthroats to a win, 10-5, at PBC Rookie Development Complex. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," St. Louis (R) manager Gabe Ames said. "Manigault hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Manigault collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 7 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Andre Manigault flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Elele Holeka in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Sal Torres in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Ronald Jarvis in the 8th. For the year, Manigault has hit .324 with 36 home runs, 104 RBIs and scored 73 runs. |
