Thwaites on Fire: Burns Dallas (R) with 3 HR Monday, September 13th , 2010 Denver (R) Cutthroats center fielder Rob Thwaites slugged three home runs against the Dallas (R) Texans at PBC Rookie Development Complex, but couldn't win the game all by himself. The Texans spoiled his day by defeating the Cutthroats, 10-9. "The loss puts a damper on the outstanding game Rob had, but people will be buzzing about this for days to come," Denver (R) manager Rich Quintero. "That's gotta be some consolation to him. But knowing Rob, he would have preferred a win." For the game, Thwaites was 5-for-7 with 4 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "The first two I got all of them and it was no doubt they were gone," Thwaites said later. "It seemed like the wind helped it a little on that last one. I just wish Mother Nature had helped us win the game, too." Rob Thwaites flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jose Castellanos in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jose Castellanos in the 5th, singled in the 7th, doubled in the 9th, struck out in the 10th and hit a solo-shot off Teodor Zablocki in the 13th. So far this season, Thwaites is batting .319 with 15 home runs, 36 RBIs and 37 runs scored. He has 51 hits in 160 at-bats, 16 walks and a .396 OBP. Thwaites has played in 43 games. |
