Cardenas Grabs ABC Top Pitcher Trophy Friday, October 1st , 2010 Tough in the clutch -- that's a bullpen specialist. And one of the best in the league is Federico Cardenas of the St. Petersburg Pelicans. Cardenas was outstanding in September and was named the Pitcher of the Month in the Amateur Baseball Circuit. St. Petersburg's star reliever held the opposition to a .143 average and put up 3 saves and 21 strikeouts in 20.2 innings with a 4-0 mark and a 0.44 ERA. This year, his stats show Cardenas has 5 saves in 41 relief appearances with a 9-1 record and 1.12 ERA. |
