Vanden Burg Cracks 5 Hits Monday, September 20th , 2010 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Kyle Vanden Burg is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Houston Apollos at Providence Field. The monster effort from the 24-year-old first baseman helped the Providence Grays get the win, 8-5. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Apollos manager Tyler Waak. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Kyle Vanden Burg doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
