Big 3-HR Day for Olmos Friday, September 3rd , 2010 El Paso Mavericks center fielder Jon Olmos left the Fort Wayne pitching staff in ruins at Farmers Field, beating the Farmers, 11-4, with a prodigious three-home run performance. "The last one was totally unexpected," Olmos told reporters at the press conference following his big game. "I just wanted to make good contact, never thinking I would get a home run, and bang, I got number three." For the game, the El Paso center fielder had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 8 and scored 3 runs. Jon Olmos grounded out in the 2nd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Takeo Ishimoto in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off David Gover in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Peter Larkins in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. Currently Olmos is batting .287 with 7 home runs and 28 RBIs. |
