Bassford's Season Could be Over Tuesday, June 15th , 2010 The doctors have spoken and Corey Bassford of the Brooklyn Atlantics didn't like what he heard. The 29-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Bassford sustained his season-ending injury during the Dallas Bulls game yesterday at Atlantics Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Brooklyn medical staff reported Bassford had a torn back muscle and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4 months. |
