Ottawa Moves on to SPBC Classic Series Saturday, October 9th , 2010 Ottawa right fielder Kevin Cross couldn't hide his reaction when asked about being named MVP of the Division Championship Series. "It's a nice honor," he said, failing to suppress a wide smile. The trophy was presented to Cross moments after his club eliminated the Detroit Chargers to advance to the SPBC Classic Series. Ottawa won the final game by a score of 2-1 at Chargers Field and took the series 4-2. "We won the series and that's the main thing," Cross said. "They were a tough team and we didn't want to take anything for granted." For the series, Cross hit .450 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 6 runs. "He was tough to stop and that's a big reason they're there and we're here," said a dejected Detroit manager Bill Brown. The Ottawa Capitals will play against the Winnipeg Buffaloes in the next round. Winnipeg won their series against the Vacaville Steelheads 4 games to 1.
