Rentz Homers 3 Times Against Edmonton Thursday, September 23rd , 2010 In a powerful performance that left the fans at Empires Stadium buzzing, Southern California Empires first baseman Zach Rentz blasted a trio of home runs en route to a win, 13-0, over the Edmonton Drillers. "Everything was clicking," Rentz told the press. "My timing was good and I got pitches I could handle and I didn't miss them." Rentz shined brilliantly in the win, with 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 8 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "It's not just one guy, it's everybody," Empires manager Jose Perez said. "Zach played great but it takes more than one guy to win a game." Zach Rentz struck out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jon Pichardo in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Willie Martinez in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Scott Carlson in the 7th. Rentz currently has a .284 batting average with 79 hits, 26 homers, 63 RBIs, 46 runs scored and a .376 OBP. |
