Wells Has 20-Game Hitting Streak Monday, August 9th , 2010 Chase Wells has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 24-year-old Sherbrooke Canadians third baseman extended his streak to 20 games, going 1-for-4 as Sherbrooke got the best of the Allentown Fleetwings at Fleetwings Ballpark, 1-0. "Chase has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Canadians manager John Guzman said. Chase Wells grounded out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th and grounded out in the 9th. Looking at his stats this year, Wells has compiled a .337 batting average, while hitting 11 home runs and driving in 26 runs. He has played in 43 games and scored 32 runs. |
