Hat Trick of Home Runs for Stevenson Tuesday, July 13th , 2010 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Vancouver Bruins. Las Vegas first baseman Eddie Stevenson tripled up on the home runs to propel the Rollers to a win, 12-6, at Vegas Stadium. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Vancouver manager Amir Johnson said. "Stevenson hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Stevenson collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 8 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Eddie Stevenson hit a two-run home run off Dave Langarica in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Dave Langarica in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Pablo Pedro in the 5th and grounded out in the 6th. So far in 2010 Stevenson is batting .245 with 8 home runs, 29 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has 23 hits in 94 at-bats and a .360 OBP. |
