Wilder Razzle-Dazzles with No-Hitter Friday, July 9th , 2010 In a dominant outing, Nick Wilder of the Mexico City Aztecas totally silenced the bats of the Vancouver Bruins, finishing with a no-hitter. In the 6-0 victory, Wilder faced only 29 batters, surrendered no hits, had 5 strikeouts and 2 walks. "Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Mexico City manager Zack Englund said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any." Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Amir Johnson had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game. "The Aztecas had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Wilder pitched a heck of a ballgame." To date this season, Wilder has a record of 2 wins and 4 losses and a 4.46 ERA. He has appeared in 6 games and struck out 25 in 40.1 innings.
