Philadelphia's Simpkins to Miss Season Thursday, August 19th , 2010 When Philadelphia first baseman Darryl Simpkins was taken out of the game, the crowd at the Keystones-Sun Sox game went silent as they could tell that it was a serious injury. That was confirmed today by doctors when they revealed that Simpkins had sustained a broken kneecap and will be out for about 7 months. Hitting .286 to date, Simpkins has 5 home runs and 21 RBIs. He has played in 53 games. |
