Almost There: Ottawa On Cusp of DCS Triumph After 5-4 Win
The Ottawa Capitals went into extra innings against the Detroit Chargers but ultimately moved to within one game of the SPBC Classic Series. The Capitals downed the Chargers in a 10-inning walk-off at Capitals Stadium by a final score of 5-4. Ottawa right-hander Mike Meloche had a commendable performance. He threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The win gives the Capitals a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Division Championship Series.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Ottawa second baseman Danny Santos, facing Steve Arthur, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Capitals the 5-4 win.

"Our guys refused to lose," said Santos.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Capitals Stadium in Ottawa.
