Hernandez Blasts Cutthroats, Shamrocks Take Game 3, 7-6
The Boston Shamrocks needed some late heroics to do it, but ultimately emerged one game away from the Cup Qualifier. The Shamrocks needed 12 innings before taking the 7-6 win against the Denver Cutthroats in a walk-off at Shamrock Grounds. Boston designated hitter Andres Hernandez was 2-5 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win gives the Shamrocks a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Play-in Series.

The decisive blow was delivered by Billy Souders in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a solo home run off 13-year veteran Brian Bunner to win the game for Boston. The home crowd went nuts.

"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'Boston Shamrocks (probably) 2010 Pro Circuit Cup Champions'," Souders told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Shamrock Grounds in Boston.
