Trailing by a game in the Play-in Series, Manny Orellana was ready for his start.

The left-hander turned in a performance for the ages at Cutter's Cove, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the Boston Shamrocks to victory in Game 2 of the Play-in Series. Orellana held the Denver Cutthroats to 6 hits and no walks, while striking out 6. The win brought Boston into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.

Orellana allowed no runs over 9 innings. He also racked up 6 strikeouts.

"It's true for every sport, I think, but the playoffs are so short that you've just got to get in and get hot," Boston manager Matt Mays told BNN after the win. "We took care of the first part and now we're just working on the second."

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, October 5th , 2010 at Shamrock Grounds in Boston.
