Blackhawks Drop Keystones, 3-2

Starting pitcher Jose Sierra gave the Chicago Blackhawks a rock-solid effort. The Chicago, Illinois native helped his team defeat the Philadelphia Keystones, 3-2, at Trident Field. Sean Keating earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 2 innings. His record is now 6-5. The Blackhawks are now 37-44.
Had Sal Rivera not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Rivera hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Blackhawks.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Philadelphia manager Corey Anderson. "But we decided not to take it."
