2-1 Loss Extends St. Louis Losing Streak
|
The Chicago Blackhawks earned a close win over the St. Louis Lions, thanks in part to Bill Dingwell. The Chicago left-hander, who finished 4th in the PBC in saves with 13 last year, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Dingwell yielded 1 run over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 8. His record improves to 8-4. St. Louis is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 9 in a row.
The Blackhawks got a big at-bat from shortstop Victor Reyes. For the game, Reyes went 2 for 3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave Chicago a 2-0 lead.
Dingwell attributed the win to his team's "collective resolve."
