San Francisco got a strong outing from Jay Williams as the Peanuts defeated the Boston Shamrocks, 3-2, at Garibaldi's Grounds. The win elevated the Peanuts to 33-28.

The decisive blow was delivered by Andy Kifer in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Darwin Harvey to win the game for San Francisco. The home crowd went nuts.

"That's how you're going to be successful," said Peanuts manager Larry Link. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
